April 12, 2022

Showa Denko Materials Co., Ltd.

Showa Denko Materials Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Hidehito Takahashi; hereinafter, “Showa Denko Materials”) announces the decision to raise the selling prices of its photosensitive dry films (Showa Denko Materials’ product name “PHOTEC”) as follows.

  1. 1. Outline of the price change
    1. 1) Margin of price increase
      Photosensitive dry films: 12%
    2. 2) Effective date
From orders received on May 1, 2022, onward
  2. 2. Background of the price change

Photosensitive dry film is a material pasted on copper-clad laminates when building circuits on a printed wiring board. In recent years, surging prices of crude oil, naphtha and other materials have caused a sharp rise in photosensitive dry films’ raw material costs and transportation charges. Showa Denko Materials has made continuous efforts to curtail product prices by reducing manufacturing costs and improving logistics efficiency. However, we have now concluded it would be extremely difficult to maintain a steady supply of this product without seeking our customers’ cooperation in shouldering part of the cost increase.
